Camera Buff

Camera buff? Yes, that's me. I am an amatuer photographer. I wish, wish, wish to become better, but as I have been told, practice, practice, practice. I do. I take shots every day of something, usually many, and my favorite is taking pictures of the lovely landscape and old deserted buildings. I guess my love of history and my bottle digging enthusiastic obsession, cause me to look and if possible, check out every old barn or deserted house I can locate. Try it sometime. Drive along an old country lane, and look for old deserted houses, barns, shacks, etc. Then, take a camera--of course, get out of your vehicle and start exploring. You never know what you might find that was left from generations before. I have found old glassware, old letters, photographs, and of course, old bottles. Walking along old railroad tracks is another adventureous undertaking, and you can always find the old glass colored insulators from the overhead telegraph lines and poles. They are usually worth something, if only to place them around the edges of your flowerbed. In addition, you will more than likely get some interesting pictures to refer to in the days ahead and remember your adventures.

Here are some of my vain attempts at taking pictures. Enjoy, and do comment, if you feel so led.

Let's Get Digging

BOTTLE DIGGING-LET'S GET DIGGING

I am an avid bottle digger and collector, and have dug since I was 12, and am now 51. I find this a wonderful hobby as well as exercise, in addtion a lesson in history. I have found everything from 1800's bottles to depression era glass and rare and common glass insulators. I try to get out and dig once a week--at least, during the nice months, here in northeastern Pa. I am always looking for places to dig, as well as old or new interested collectors to dig along with and share my dump sites. If anyone is interested, or has any stories or finds to share, please feel free to do so. I think these interested collectors help keep those of us who love the hobby (or sport--could call it that) going. I am heading out to dig this Wednesday and hope for some interesting finds. I also sell on ebay and you can check me out on there at bottlecindy (my ebay selling name)
